OIDO Awareness Campaign

The Office of the Immigration Ombudsman (OIDO), an independent office within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), was launched in 2021. The campaign introduced OIDO's mission to ensure humane treatment of individuals in U.S. immigration detention and explained processes in ensuring independent oversight to secure detainee's basic needs during detention, such as specific dietary needs, medication, and legal counsel.
