A campaign to stop today's crisis of domestic terrorism and targeted violence with a 2-prong approach:
1) Acknowledging root causes in radicalized individuals due to gaps in community support allowing dangerous ideologies to take hold, and 2) Leaning into holistic, community-based support, education, awareness and opportunities for 1:1 everyday micro interventions to prevent self harm and harm to others.
The educational component for mental health awareness, destigmatization and support is the differentiator. Implemented in every educational corner, starting with age-appropriate early learner Pre-K to grade school and through higher learning. Mental well-being in modern society is a critical learned skill, like physical health and nutrition. A holistic approach to well-being ensures targeted violence prevention can succeed.

Program Name and Logo Exploration

“Common Safety” references basic, practical precautions to prevent harm in everyday life, like burns and falls. It suggests the everyday person in everyday situations in public, at work, and at home has an important role in protecting themselves and others. It captures the ubiquitous beginnings of targeted violence, and empowers us all to be more aware as active bystanders to report concerns, and reach out to experts for the right support at the right time. Common-sense prevention of violence before it happens.

"Make it Stop" captures a direct and emotional response to pain. Often characterized as a child's plea for help, the tone is a powerful, visceral, and universal sentiment in the wake of increased school shootings and driver rampage unleashed on open crowds. The mark represents a people-centered, community-based responsiveness—attention to social connection, active listening, community education, mental health awareness and proactive bystanding—a compelling rally cry for prevention.

One Degree
"Human connection is at the center of prevention"
Tone: human-centered | hand made brush strokes | circle of influence
Oneº can change outcomes with human understanding and connection—caring, proximity and awareness—is a matter of degree. We all come full circle after every mass shooting. The same signs were there, and it’ll likely happen again. We have to do something to stop it. A shift of Oneº, by one person, for one person, can prevent domestic terrorism and targeted violence.

Power 2 Prevent
"We can all make a difference"
Tone: hidden in plain site | patterns | empowerment
We all have a key role in prevention. Learning and awareness is where it starts so we can understand the red flags. Data shows bystanders were often aware of potential for violence before it happened but dismissed their concerns. Learning to listen to ourselves and listen to others as an active bystander keeps us safe. We all have the power to prevent violent extremism before it escalates to violence.
